February 16, 2012 Local workforce leader tells Senate public-private partnerships are vital to training for jobs with a future
Senator Cantwell will present AJAC Executive Director, Laura Hopkins with a 2012 Women of Valor Award on Wednesday, February 22nd in Seattle, WA.The Fifth Women of Valor Awards will honor women who have dedicated their lives to investing in jobs and our communities. Hillary Clinton helped Senator Cantwell kick-off this event in 2006 as a way to honor and celebrate the outstanding women in our community. The tradition continues this year with special guests U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, U.S. Senator Patty Murray and U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen and past honorees and supporters.

Receive Up to $5,000 for Your Exporting Needs - Qualifying Washington state companies can apply for export finance assistance under a new program from the State of Washington Department of Commerce. The Export Voucher program, funded in part through a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration, provides export-ready companies with up to $5,000 to help them begin exporting or expand to new export markets. Vouchers can be used to help pay for trade show fees and travel, interpreter fees, translation services, training, international certification and other expenses.
