On May 22nd, AJAC hosted an employer roundtable at Natural Factors, a supplement company based out of Monroe, Washington. Natural Factors launched AJAC’s Industrial Manufacturing Technician program in August 2022 and has enrolled 15 apprentices through a cohort model of learning. Their apprentices are split into two groups and each cohort completes their on-the-job training and college level classes at their facility.
AJAC’s employer roundtables are designed to bring community members and local companies together to discuss workforce development challenges while also hearing from AJAC staff members about new and existing training programs available to them. Part of the discussion focused on AJAC’s re-launch of the Manufacturing Academy in Snohomish County. This program provides underserved and underrepresented populations an opportunity to receive 10-weeks of entry-level advanced manufacturing training at no-cost. The first cohort is scheduled to begin in early July!
