Credit for Prior Experience (CPE)
About CPE
An apprentice who has previous experience and/or schooling may request to enter an apprenticeship program at an advanced step.
The apprentice must provide documentation to verify their experience and/or schooling.
The decision of whether to allow the apprentice candidate to have advanced entry, and at what step, is a decision made by AJAC with the consent of the employer.

Credit for Early Completion
About CEC
To be considered for Credit for Early Completion, apprentices must document their significant experience (in the trade they wish to apprentice in) which was performed prior to entering the apprenticeship program.
Prior experience in the trade may be college level classes and/or employment that require skills or tasks that are comparable to apprentice level work in a shop environment.
