Getting Started at AJAC

Get Started in Apprenticeship

Before You Complete This Form

Submitting your information to AJAC does not register you for an apprenticeship. AJAC isn’t an employment agency or the hiring employer—our role is to provide apprenticeship training once you’re hired with a company we partner with. Completing the form below allows AJAC to understand where you live, your manufacturing experience, and which training program we offer is the best fit for you.

Common Questions We Get Asked

I Have No Manufacturing Experience, Should I Fill This Form Out?

If you have no manufacturing experience, we encourage you to apply for our Manufacturing Academy pre-apprenticeship training program. This is a 10-week program designed for adults who have no manufacturing experience and are looking to develop manufacturing skills prior to entering the industry. You can learn more about this program and apply here

I’m Under 18 Years Old, What Should I Do?

For individuals under 18 years old, we encourage you to revisit this form once you are an adult, or look into our Youth Apprenticeship program for high school students

When Should I Expect to Hear Back from AJAC?

After you complete the form below, we will process your information in the order it is received. Yes, we receive a lot of inquiries, but we promise we have not forgot about you.

I Live Outside of Washington State, What Should I Do?

Unfortunately, AJAC can only work with apprentices who work for a company physically located in Washington State. If you live outside of Washington State, please search for an apprenticeship program located in your state.

Process For Becoming an Apprentice

1

Complete Career Navigation Form
First, complete our Career Navigation Form (link below). This will capture your information, work experience, and eligibility so we can route you to the right training program we offer. The more information you include, the better we can serve you!

2

Work with AJAC’s Career Navigators
After we’ve reviewed your information, you will be connected with one of AJAC’s Career Navigators who will guide you through the process of enrolling in one of our training programs. If you do not meet the minimum qualifications to become an apprentice, the Career Navigator will suggest alternative training programs you can apply for.

3

Work for a Partner Employer
You must be 18 or older and work in Washington State for a manufacturing company that has a signed agreement with AJAC to offer apprenticeship programs to its employees. If you work for a company that is not partnered with AJAC, your company will need to sign an agreement prior to enrolling any employees as apprentices.

4

Receive Employer Approval
Once your company partners with AJAC, you’ll need approval from your employer to enroll as an apprentice. This ensures your company supports your participation in the program.

5

Complete Enrollment with AJAC
An AJAC representative will meet with you at your workplace to guide you through the enrollment process. During this visit, you’ll complete the necessary paperwork, register for college-level classes, and learn about financial aid options that may apply.
