This spring, partnering employers can enroll non-apprentice employees in select courses from AJAC’s Machinist and Maintenance programs. This option is designed for your employees who need targeted skill development without committing to a full multi-year apprenticeship track.

Participation Requirements & Costs

To maintain the integrity of the program and ensure high-quality outcomes, the following policies apply:

Employees may enroll in no more than two total courses
Students must complete the full 50 instructional hours per course (including quizzes and exams)
No college credit is awarded for these courses
Courses follow the same expectations and standards as apprenticeship classes

This ensures consistency, accountability, and meaningful skill development.

Each course is $800 and will be invoiced directly to your company. This offers an affordable, structured upskilling solution without the long-term commitment of a full apprenticeship program.

FAQs

Are seats guaranteed?

No. Enrollment is based on seat availability within existing apprenticeship cohorts. Early inquiry is recommended to secure placement.

Do non-apprentice students follow the same requirements as apprentices?

Yes. Participants must complete the full 50 instructional hours, including all quizzes and exams. Course expectations, attendance standards, and performance requirements are the same as those for registered apprentices.

Do these courses count toward a full apprenticeship later?

No. These individual course enrollments do not automatically transfer into or replace requirements within a registered apprenticeship program. If an employee later enrolls as an apprentice, placement will be evaluated separately.

How many courses can one employee take?

Each employee may enroll in a maximum of two total courses.

Who is eligible to enroll in these courses?

This option is available to partnering employers who wish to enroll experienced employees in select Machinist or Maintenance courses. It is designed for individuals who do not need or qualify for a full apprenticeship program.

I’m not a partner with AJAC, can my company still participate?

Only companies who have signed (Training Agent) agreements with AJAC have access to our non-apprentice classes. Not a partner with AJAC? Reach out to our team, enroll at least one apprentice, and you can receive the same benefits as our current partners.
