About the Manufacturing Academy

AJAC’s Snohomish County Manufacturing Academy – a recognized pre-apprenticeship program – delves into essential technical skill development while students earn industry-recognized certifications—enriching their professional portfolios.

AJAC’s extensive network of manufacturing employers in Snohomish County will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical application.

Upon successful completion of the Manufacturing Academy program, students will be connected with career opportunities within the local advanced manufacturing industries. 

There is no-cost to enroll for Washington State residents that meet eligibility requirements.

Develop Skills. Earn Certifications.

Develop skills to succeed in the industry including:

  • Math for manufacturing.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Lean manufacturing.
  • Effective communication.
  • Resume writing.
  • Interviewing and job application assistance.
  • Training from industry professionals, while earning college credits.
  • Tour local advanced manufacturing companies (pending company approval).
  • Obtain insight about career pathways; including education and apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Receive an industry-recognized certificate of completion.

Our Next Class Starts January 15th

  • Structure of Program: In-Person Classroom Offered for Winter 2025
  • Class Requirement: Washington State Resident, 18 and older, and must attend class in person M-T. Complete all application and funding paperwork.
  • Class Start Date: January 15 – March 19, 2025 | 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. 
  • Length of Program: 10 Weeks (Monday – Thursday)
  • Location: Everett, WA

A Booming Economy...

Aerospace and advanced manufacturing is a significant driver of Snohomish County’s economy and includes a range of industries such as aerospace, marine, plastics, medical devices, electronic equipment, and food processing.

Snohomish County workforce has the highest concentration of advanced manufacturing jobs west of the Rocky Mountains. Nearly 65,000 people work in Snohomish County’s manufacturing industry. AJAC’s Snohomish County apprentices earn on average $60,000 a year after completing apprenticeship.

AJAC’s training programs are designed to address talent pipeline and training challenges for each of these advanced manufacturing industries.

Over 25 advanced manufacturing employers in Snohomish County participate in AJAC’s registered apprenticeship programs. These employers include: Pathfinder Manufacturing, Toolcraft, New Tech Industries, Jamco America, Acro Machining, Natural Factors, Trident Seafoods, Peregrine Manufacturing, King Machine, NW Metalcraft, Everett Engineering and many more. In addition to participating in AJAC’s apprenticeship programs, many of these employers hire directly from the Snohomish Manufacturing Academy program—giving graduates a unique opportunity to directly apply their skills to the real-world.

Employment After Graduation

The AJAC Career Navigation Program is dedicated to guiding graduates from the Manufacturing Academy towards successful careers in the manufacturing industry.

It offers comprehensive services including:

  • guided job search strategies
  • connections with a network of partnering employers
  • craft competitive resumes
  • navigate job boards
  • access exclusive job postings and networking opportunities.

The AJAC Career Navigation Program aims to empower individuals with the tools, knowledge, and connections needed to achieve their career aspirations in the manufacturing sector.

Application Process

You can apply at any time for our next cohort. We will contact you regarding enrollment as we approach our start date.

1. Complete an online application at any time.

2. After application is processed, a navigator will contact you discuss next steps.

3. Complete mandatory orientation paperwork supplied by navigator.

4. Enroll in the Manufacturing Academy.

5. Attend class, learn and pass quizzes.

6. Earn industry certifications and certificate of completion.
