Introducing AJAC's New Logo

The Story Behind the Redesign

Some of you know us as AJAC, others as the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee.

Today, we’re proud to unveil our new logo and official name change: “AJAC“.

When AJAC launched in 2008, our organization was tasked with building comprehensive apprenticeship pathways for Washington State manufacturers. In our first 10 years, AJAC focused on serving aerospace employers and those occupations specific to that sub-industry.

Over the last three years, AJAC expanded our industry footprint to include food processing, medical, defense, space exploration, warehouse and logistics, maritime, plastics, clean energy, and automation. We’ve added several new apprenticeship occupations including Logistics Specialist, Operations Specialist, Industrial Machine Operator, Automation Technician, CNC Programmer, and Industrial Manufacturing Technician.

Simply put, we felt now was the right time to have a logo and brand that not only represents who our organization is today, but our commitment to providing high-quality training programs for decades to come.

“Our marketing department, support staff, and contractors have worked diligently over the last year to develop a brand identity and website that reflects our organization’s vision for the future of apprenticeships and our mission to help individuals develop the skills they need to succeed in their careers,” said Demetria “Lynn” Strickland, Executive Director at AJAC. “We want our employers, apprentices, students, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to know AJAC is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our manufacturing industry. Our logo represents a new chapter in our story and our unwavering dedication to make training accessible for all.”

Logo Anatomy

AJAC is leading the way by helping manufacturers and employees alike rise to new heights. Our bold, robust apprenticeship programs empower employers with building their skilled workforce, increasing performance, and teaching the skills necessary to make them more adaptable in a job market with constantly changing technologies. The logo symbolizes this focus on excellence – its sharpness representing high levels of achievement while wings harken back AJAC’s roots in aerospace manufacturing and signify taking flight for both businesses and individuals. In addition the 3 lines also reflects the 3 pillars of AJAC: Pre-Apprenticeship (Manufacturing Academy), Youth Apprenticeship, and Adult Apprenticeship.
