Earlier this month, Elma High School celebrated the induction of its third cohort of youth apprentices with a special signing day ceremony. Since forming a partnership in 2022, AJAC and Elma High School have made significant strides, with the district quickly becoming one of Washington State’s leading supporters of youth apprenticeships.
This year, seven students will embark on their apprenticeships, working at various companies in Grays Harbor County. These businesses, in collaboration with AJAC, offer the students competitive wages as they earn on-the-job training hours. In addition to their practical experience, the apprentices will complete three college-level classes designed by AJAC and taught by Elma’s faculty. Congratulations to all the participants in this year’s program!
